"What the hell," you muttered, sitting in the midst of what looked like an explosion of screws, bolts, and bits of wood. That's right, my friend, you had just bought an IKEA desk earlier today against your better judgment and were now working on putting it together.
And failing miserably.
"How the heck does screw A4 fit into hole H6?!" you shrieked, about to throw the pieces into the wall. You were quite surprised that you hadn't ripped the diagrams and instructions into millions of pieces by now.
"Whoever designed these shitty things must have been a sadist," you determined, glaring darkly at the paper that was supposed to be helping you. You held it in your hands and turned it every which way, but no matter what you did, the pictures never made sense.
"WHY WON'T YOU TELL ME YOUR SECRETS?!?!?!"
"Maybe because it's a piece of paper, bella." With a squeak-shriek, you twisted and fell into the massive piles of useless desk parts. A chuckle made its way to your ears as you sat up to look at the person who was in your living room. You almost fell over again when your eyes met reddish-brown.
"The name's Adamo, bella," the 2P version of Italy said, smirking at you. This time, you actually did fall over again.
"You know, it's-a usually polite to give your name in return." You scoffed and sent a glare at him, which only made his smirk grow.
"Says the one who's come into my house without any prior invitation."
"An attitude like-a that won't endear you to me, bella."
"Because I just want to be so close to you." Adamo laughed and walked over to look down at you.
"I like you, bella. You're funny." Before you could retort, he crouched down and leaned over you.
"Wanna tell me where I am? I'm not-a in the same world as my 'original,' am I?"
"How do you know about that?" you asked, genuinely confused. He gave a lazy shrug and sat down.
"Me and the other 2Ps just-a do. We-a know from the start we're copies of someone else." You nodded and looked away from him, not really sure what to say. He didn't seem upset about the topic, but it still seemed kind of awkward to continue talking about it.
After a moment of silence, you glanced at him and sighed before staring at the ceiling.
"My name. It's (Name)." You looked over at him just in time to glimpse a small smile on his face.
"Nice to-a meet you, (Name)."
"You too, Adamo."
"Do you want me to-a build this desk for you?"
Adamo sighed as he heard another crash erupt from your bedroom. Despite your frustration over the IKEA desk you'd bought the day he'd arrived, you hadn't learned your lesson and had bought another one to put in his room.
"Three…two…one," he counted down.
"SCREW YOU, YOU STUPID PIECE OF JUNK!!!!" He sighed again and headed to your room. If he didn't help you soon, you might tear the house down.
Adamo glanced into your room to see you growling at a severely wrinkled piece of paper and knew exactly what to do.
You were knocked over as Adamo glomped you out of seemingly nowhere. Flailing around a bit, you fought to keep the majority of his weight off of you. Adamo had glomps of doom, and as much as you loved the rare moments where he'd show affection, they were killer for your health.
"Adamo," you wheezed. "I can't breathe." He gave you one last squeeze before letting you go. You both sat up and you took in a deep breath. Adamo just smirked when you scowled at him.
"You-a never learn, huh, bella?" You huffed and picked up the mangled instructions again.
"Would you rather not have a desk?"
"I'd rather you-a not destroy our-a living space," he responded, taking the paper out of your hands and leaning his shoulder against yours. A pout appeared on your face in an attempt to hide the blush that showed at his closeness. Adamo studied the directions and rested an arm around your shoulders.
"I don't-a understand why you can't get these instructions, (Name)."
"I don't understand why you can." The two of you sat in your room for at least an hour, Adamo showing you how the desk needed to be put together. You didn't know why you didn't just ask for his help in the first place. It would have saved you a ton of frustration.
Finally the desk was done and in place in Adamo's room. Excitedly, you clapped your hands and turned to him.
"Thanks for helping again!" you said, leaning up to kiss his cheek. You started to turn away when his hand grabbed your cheek and turned your head back to his to bring your lips to his. Your eyes widened in shock as you let him kiss you. He pulled away and looked into your eyes.
"You missed," he said, that familiar smirk making its way onto his face. Your face flushed and you shoved him in the chest, pretending to be upset.
"You jerk," you muttered, hiding your face in his chest as he hugged you so he couldn't see your smile. You felt his chuckle rumble through him as he rested his chin on your head.
"Si. But I'm-a your jerk."
"Oh, well that's alright then."
