Scrunching your eyebrows in concentration, you furiously typed on your laptop in an attempt to get your thoughts out before they vanished. You were currently working on a paper for your Composition class and you had just been struck with inspiration. So before you could forget your genius idea, you hurriedly added sentence after sentence to your paper.
With a sigh, you leaned back and re-read everything you'd just typed. Which you were damn proud of, by the way. You weren't finished just yet, but this burst of intelligence had set you on a roll and you weren't stopping anytime soon. Although you hated writing essays, you couldn't complain about this one because you were writing about the history of Germania. You'd been skeptical at first, but once you started doing the research you realized that Germania had actually been a really interesting country.
You grinned as you finished another paragraph. You were on such a roll right now! There were already six pages finished and you only needed two more and you'd be done!
"God, why am I so amazing?" you asked yourself jokingly as you stretched your arms above your head. You were just about to continue your paper when you felt a presence lean down behind you.
"You seem very knowledgeable about my history, fraulein." Slowly, you turned your head to look at the owner of the voice that had just spoken next to your ear.
"…Oh, what is this bullshit."
"Entschuldigen Sie mich?" Your eye was twitching at a rapid rate as you grabbed some of Germania's long hair and yanked. He winced but didn't say anything; just watched you as you started touching his face. Once you were satisfied that he was, in fact, real and not some sort of hallucination you sighed and rubbed the back of your neck.
"I apologize for my language," you said sheepishly. "I just…didn't expect a person to show up in my home." And an imaginary one at that, you thought as you glanced up at Germania. He glanced down at you before shifting his gaze around your living room.
"Zat is alright, fraulein. I did arrive unexpectedly. Where am I, by ze vay?"
"I am most likely in another vorld, correct?"
"I see. Vell zen. I suppose I vill have to find a place to stay."
"You can…stay here, if you'd like." Germania blinked at you before reaching out to place a large hand on top of your head.
"I can tell ze idea makes you uncomfortable, fraulein, so I von't intrude." You shifted, which caused him to remove his hand, and looked up at him, determined to help him out.
"No, it's fine. I'd feel bad just sending you out in a place you don't know. You can stay here. If you want to leave later on, I understand. But for now, you can live with me." Germania sighed but offered you a small smile that caused you to blush upon seeing it.
"You seem very insistent. Danke, fraulein. I appreciate your offer."
"You can call me (Name)," you said, returning his smile.
"I am Walthari."
You peeked around the corner into the living room before ducking back into the hall once you'd spotted your prey. Stealthily, you crept from the hallway to behind the couch closest to the doorframe. Today you were going to do it. You were going to sneak up on Walthari and scare the daylights out of him! You'd been trying to do this for months now. He always managed to sneak up on you somehow; it was like he was a freaking ninja. And today, you were finally going to return the favor.
You inched your way behind the chair he was in and prepared to jump up and shout at him. Taking in a deep breath, you got into a crouching position and prepared to…
"I know you're zere, (Name)."
"God dammit!" Walthari chuckled lightly and turned in his chair to look at you as you stood up. You huffed and crossed your arms, beyond frustrated with the German.
"How do you do that?" you demanded.
"Frau, I vas a country und warrior for centuries. You don't just forget skills like those overnight." You grumbled and sat in the chair next to his. You shouldn't be surprised that he had realized you were there. You were the farthest thing from a super sneaky ninja-spy there ever was.
"Couldn't you just play along for once?"
"I like frustrating you."
"Yeah, I bet you do." Walthari smirked and you looked away with a blush. Damn him and his face. It should be illegal for him to look that good.
"You think so?" he asked, resting his chin in one hand. You blinked at him in confusion before realizing that you'd just said he was illegally good looking out loud. He smirked again when your whole face went red while you tried stuttering out an explanation. You didn't get very far though because he reached out to gently grasp your chin in his hand and pull you to him for a gentle kiss.
Your eyes fluttered shut as you softly kissed him back, resting a hand on the side of his neck. Walthari pulled away just long enough to lock eyes with you before pressing his lips to yours again. He wrapped his free arm around you and lifted you out of your seat and into his lap, an action that surprised you. But you were too busy tangling your fingers in his hair to care much.
His lips moved against yours softly not pushing you too far, something you were grateful for. Walthari continued to kiss you for several moments before pulling away to pull you into a tight hug.
"Ich liebe dich," he whispered into your hair before pressing a kiss to the top of your head. You smiled and hid your face in his chest, lightly clutching the back of his shirt. Once you collected yourself enough to respond, you pulled away to grin up at him.
"Ich liebe dich auch," you said, proud to be able to respond in his language. Your efforts were rewarded by a large smile making itself known on Walthari's face that quickly morphed into his familiar smirk.
"Zis doesn't mean I'm going to let you sneak up on me though, liebe."
