Why can't anything interesting happen to me?
This one sentence was a common thought in your head. Every day you wondered why your life was so boring. Why you couldn't live in a world where something was always happening. You didn't even care what. You just wanted something to happen.
You headed home from your part-time job with these thoughts running through your mind. You barely paid attention to them anymore because, honestly, what was the use. Things wouldn't ever change. They hadn't in the entire time you'd been alive. Same dull routines, only slightly changed by where and how old you were.
Sighing lightly at this old revelation, you entered your apartment and headed straight for your bedroom. With a grunt, you flopped down onto your bed and just laid there. But just as you began drifting off to sleep, something happened.
A bright light shone through your eyelids and you jerked up into a sitting position. The light was coming from directly under you. Just as you bent down to peer at this strange occurrence, the light turned into a hole. You shrieked as you plummeted into black. You were terrified out of your mind and had no idea what was going on.
After an eternity of falling, you landed on something hard and wooden. Groaning, you just lay where you were with your eyes closed.
"Whoa! How'd that dudette get here?"
"You bloody git! Don't just gawk at her!"
"She will become one with me, da?"
"Vee, do you-a think she has pasta?"
"You dummkopf, vhy vould she have pasta?" These voices and many others continued shouting at each other in regards to your sudden arrival. You were pretty sure you were going crazy, because these voices sounded eerily familiar.
You slowly sat up and realized that everyone had gone silent at your movement. Hesitantly, you opened your eyes and looked around.
Well great. You were in the middle of a World Meeting.
